@oliver_schafeld yes, but mostly very expensive and doesn't have the convenience of overnight. Some kind of proof that overnight trains are relevant are all the flixbuses travelling overnight to make for the missing trains. So many reasons why are not running... (lack of rolling stock, lack of stock that could also be used in the daytime, trackworks at night, high ticket price if not subsidized hence need to run between large European cities only,...) :( |
I was gonna mention how odd it looks as if Paris had severed connections to the seemingly very well connected parts of Europe east of the Rhine.
However, you can easily get from Düsseldorf to Paris. E.g. in under 4 hours by Eurostar.

And I remember there was a Thalys to Paris on the next track every Monday morning when I waited for my train from Essen to Cologne.
